Xinyi is a junior majoring in Documentary Studies and Production, minoring in sociology at Ithaca College, New York. She enjoyed learning social issues, reporting on injustice and give voices to people. However, as a filmmaker, it is sad to see audience leaving the cinema feeling depressed.
She is also a enthusiastic rock climber who has just certified for lead climbing (sports climbing)! As she made her first documentary highlighting the social media use in rock climbing in Seoul, South Korea, she decides to continue pursuing more documentaries about outdoor sports, climbing, environment, and even combining social issues with rock climbing. Inspired by the documentary "CLIMBING NEVER DIE", produced and directed by MATT GROOM & DANYIL BOLDYREV from REEL ROCK 18, Xinyi and her partner Conrad West are planning and researching for their next documentary, focusing on adaptive climbers who find their communities through climbing.
